Think BIG and Support Small

 – By

Have you heard of “Small Business Saturday”?  It is an effort all across the United States to help people find the value in shopping local.  This day is the counter offer to “Black Friday” when big box stores offer incredible deals the day after Thanksgiving.  The “Small Business Saturday” movement honors local business owners and encourages local shopping

This year, On Hand Development Corporation is sponsoring a “Small Business Saturday” event on November 26th with a kickoff event at Rustic Roots 605 from 9 a.m. to 11a.m.  Those that come will receive “Shop Small” swag and get your name in a drawing for community cash. On Hand Development also visited the school on Monday, November 21st and we challenged the students to write or draw what supporting local means to them.  On Shop Small Saturday, we will be announcing those lucky winners of the challenge LIVE on our Facebook page.

And that’s not all!  Miller C & C and On Hand Development Corporation are also rolling out a rewards program for loyal local shoppers call Sant’s Great Give Away! To enter, make a $20 (or more) purchase at a participating business. Two drawings will be held on Friday, December 9th (entries between November 25 and December 8) and Wednesday, December 21st (entries between December 9 and December 20). Each drawing will award two $150 and six $75 prizes in Community Cash. Make sure you fill out an entry form on the spot!

Wondering where you can sign up? Check out these Miller Civic and Commerce members: Miller Ace Hardware, American Family Insurance, Blevior Floral and Event Design, Blush Beauty, Heartstrings, The Clothes Garden, Kessler’s, Mainstreet Lunchbox, Miller Rexall Drug, Rustic Roots 605, Twin Valley Tire, Polly’s Shoe Store, Pump & Pak, Subway and South Dakota Arms Company.

These are just a few ways we can say THANK YOU to loyal customers in our town.  Please consider joining us on Small Business Saturday and enter the Santa’s Great Give Away and hopefully come home with some Community Cash for Christmas!  Skip Black Friday and enjoy Small Business Saturday right here in Miller!

Think BIG and support small this season and every season!
