What Does the Miller Civic and Commerce Do?

I was out rummaging last week and a lady approached me about the rummage sales and how they were organized. She began to ask me why Economic Development doesn’t handle rummage weekend or the Miller Civic Commerce. I explained to her that Economic Development is working with businesses, promotion of our area, housing, and quality of life projects. The Miller Civic and Commerce handles events around town and she asked me like what?

The Miller Civic and Commerce exists to promote Miller and to continue to improve the Hand County vibrant business community. It is the mission of the Miller Civic & Commerce to be a responsive and resourceful organization that supports and enhances the economic well-being of the community.

The Miller Civic & Commerce Board meets the third Wednesday of the month.  The board consist of eight volunteer board members that put in a lot of time and energy in our community. The Miller C&C Association is funded entirely by the membership dues, as well as donations solicited from members for special events.

Below are the events that the Miller Civic and Commerce organizes:

  • Easter Egg Hunt
  • Working Women’s Event
  • Independence Day Celebration
  • Summer Crazy Days Kickoff
  • Smoke on the Prairie (Saturday, September 26, 2020)
  • Rooster Rush Pheasant Release (Saturday, October 17, 2020)
  • Christmas on the Prairie (Thursday, December 3, 2020)

I would like to thank these board members for their time and dedication to Miller and bringing Miller these wonderful events. I believe they are fulfilling their mission with these fun events that enhance our economic well-being of our community.
