Improving Rundown Properties
Monday, July 10, 2017
The South Dakota Housing Development Authority has a low interest rate loan program that makes it possible to improve houses throughout our area and state. Called CHIP, homeowners can use the funds to update things like plumbing, wiring, water heaters, and even to replace the foundation.
The actual loan terms are based on borrower need on an individual basis. The goal is for the loan to be affordable and make it possible to fix up houses in the area. Borrowers can even use it to expand the home by completing additions. The caveat is that you must be within 120 percent of the income for the area.
