Whether it's across the state or across state borders, recent census data shows nationally, fewer of us are moving to new communities - only that's not the case in South Dakota.

That same data shows a number of people are willing to make the move here. In 2014, more than 28,000 people migrated to South Dakota from out-of-state.

"We've got a lot of stuff to unpack," transplant Rudy Robinson said.

It's been a little more than a month since Rudy and Lora Robinson packed up and moved from Sioux City, Iowa.
